Two longtime allies within the Québec Black Metal scene join forces to offer a joint album from their ambient projects.
On 'Arcanes,' Cimerion and Oublieth offer a journey filled with atmosphere and emotion, dedicated to two giants of ambient music who recently left us, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis.
Rather than approach this opus in a classic "split album" way, the two collaborators have opted to compose a single soundtrack within which their tracks alternate in a very natural way while keeping their own uniqueness. Mostly recorded from analog synthesizers, 'Arcanes' sees each group at the top of their game, in an album that will captivate listeners.

A dreamy, beguiling, nostalgic dungeon synth quest through the shires. But, it's so much more than that. The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks. The record is addictive melancholy inspiration. The ideal music for accompanying the dawning morning of an epic adventure. brantly

My favorite out of the three I believe.The sound is more aggressive and fits the cover art of what looks like a perilous journey for the protagonist. Fits well at being the second in the trilogy of albums. Every song is good and the cassette tape and package is of good quality. A Great buy that deserves a vinyl edition. Joshua Laleina
